The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a nationally recognized professional, educational, non-profit, and service organization dedicated to promoting interest in and encouraging women to pursue the fields of science and engineering.

 

This year marked the 31st annual SWE Spring Banquet. This event is held annually to honor our graduating seniors and recognize outstanding contributions by SWE members. This event is traditionally held at the Hilton Garden Inn located in downtown Evanston. The banquet includes a 3 course meal, a keynote speaker, and entertainment from a musical ensemble.

Event Details

The SWE Spring Banquet took place on Thursday, May 15th at 6 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Evanston.
Tickets were $7 for National SWE Members, $10 for non-SWE members and $25 for professionals.
The food choices for dinner were as follows:

  • Roaster Rosemary Chicken: Roasted Lemon and White Wine Sauce with Fresh Rosemary Complements a Chicken Breast and Wing Served with Creamy Mashed Potatoes
  • Glazed Salmon: Brushed with Honey Balsamic Glaze Served with Jasmine Rice
  • Mediterranean Purse: Couscous, Roasted Vegetables and Asiago Cheese in a Flaky Pastry. Served with Grilled Vegetables and a Roasted Red Pepper Sauce

  • Dessert was triple chocolate cake!

    Dinner was followed by a special presentation from a fabulous jazz ensemble.

    Later in the evening, keynote speaker Jennifer Sciullo, a systems engineer from Northrop Grumman gave a divine speech.
